Talking about cancer is one of the most important things we can do as it helps patients to feel less alone but also enables the cancer community to progress with treatments, care and research. With that in mind, MySunrise is delighted to partner with the brilliant new podcast Simply Oncology.

The podcast has been created by our Co-founder and Clinical Lead, Dr John McGrane, along with Dr Michael Rowe, Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Each episode focuses on a different cancer pathway or experience from both the patient and oncologist perspective to ensure a truly wholistic conversation on the topic. For example, one recent episode finds our hosts speaking with Rachel Bryce, Senior Chemotherapy Nurse at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and Macmillan lead for System Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) to discuss what patients should expect from chemotherapy.

Dr John McGrane and Dr Michael Rowe are oncologists who want to break down the complex parts of cancer care into clear and simple sessions.

Podcast presents John and Mike said; "We are delighted to have the MySunrise app showcase our Simply Oncology podcast Patient Fundamentals episodes. The whole purpose of the Patient Fundamentals is to support and empower patients. Having people access these Simply Oncology podcast resources on the MySunrise app as part of their cancer pathway will hopefully add some extra support.”

MySunrise users will soon be able to link to the Simply Oncology podcast from within the app, adding another layer of information and advice tailored to your specific cancer pathway. In the meantime, if you want to catch up on some of the past episodes then you can find the full playlist here.
